Sixth Floor - Control Room Batteries
The Control Room Battery Room occupied a long narrow space under the sloping roof on the eastern side of the building.

CR batteries

right - The batteries for the high tension supply to the amplifiers in the Control Room.
left - The battery in the foreground supplied current to operate the relay-switches and signal-lights in the Control Room.

CR batteries

Generators left - Motor-Generators and Switchgear for charging the Control Room batteries. It's not clear where this picture was taken, but it's presumably the room at the north of the building marked as 'Motor Generator' on the floor plan.
