Finchingfield is a tempting spot to paint, but I wanted a subject that was less 'chocolate-boxy' than the usual view. I took some photos of the village one evening, and realised that one tiny area of the pond made an interesting picture. It took a lot of time with a magnifying glass studying an area about an inch across when painting this one!
