Finchingfield Past and Present A personal view by Roger Beckwith

Views from the Church Tower

View towards the windmill from the Church Tower

These photos were taken from the church tower in July 1978. The first shot shows the view looking toward Duck End and the windmill, the building The windmill from the Church Tower in the left foreground is the guildhall. If you look at the bottom of the Introduction page you'll see the section of road that appears in this picture. To the left is a closer view of the mill.
View of the center of the village from the church tower

Here we are looking down at the centre of the village. It's possible to pick out the pond and greens. The gabled roofs in the distance identify Finchingfield House and Prospect House.

Finally we look in the opposite direction.
