Piddinghoe is a little way out of Newhaven on the Lewes road. It has some nice seventeenth century cottages, an old wharf, and a church with a round tower. So why paint part of an old barn? I think the attractions were the textures of the wall and roof and the red of the few bricks round the ventilators.
